Who are we?
Little Western is the oldest 7 1/4 inch gauge railway in Cornwall, it's been owned by the Curtis family, a local family since 2020. Although the railway is a commercial venture it is defiantly a hobby that has gotten out of control. Great pride is taken in maintaining the railway and it's grounds. Amongst our small team we boast nearly 20 years in the tourism/hospitality industry and 40 years in heavy industry.
We offer passengers a journey over a 1/4 of a mile in length, on the way we pass alongside a river, cross over two bridges and go through a tunnel.
Since being bought by us we have rebuilt the entire railway, replacing the whole track, building a new station and depot to keep the rolling stock in. Four new locomotives have been delivered since 2020 along with 8 coaches and a goods train. Our aim is for you not to just have a train ride, but the whole railway experience.
We take great pride in welcoming everyone aboard our trains and love meeting all our passengers.
